Possible occupations for graduates are software development, network analysis, software security, and database design.
The A.S. degree program with a major in Science and a Computer Science specialization is designed for students who wish to pursue a four-year degree in Computer Science and a career in a field such as one of those above.
The specialization in Computer Science prepares students with core knowledge and skills needed for entry into baccalaureate schools in computer science. Students should be knowledgeable about the specific requirements of the four-year school to which they wish to transfer so that they may make appropriate course choices.

Students taking 3 credit MTH 245 must also take an additional one credit in Mathematics electives. Mathematics electives listed under Approved Elective Courses for the AS Degree in Science may be applied to meet this requirement.

Allowable electives are: any course from the list of Approved Electives Courses for the AS Degree in Science, plus ITP 232, ITP 258, or CSC 205. Additional elective choices may be approved with specific permission of an Academic Dean, using the "Program Adjustment Form" available in the Admissions & Records Office.
